BAEK RETAINS WBA SUPER-FEATHER TITLE ON A SPLIT DRAW WITH COMPATRIOT CHOI

POHANG, KOREA-Unbeaten hard-puncher JONGKWON BAEK kept his WBA super-featherweight title, as he battled to a split draw with a taller compatriot named KYUCHUL CHOI over 12 heats.

Scored-Gonzalo Riveras (Venezuela) 117-112 for Baek, Arkom Wannasit (Thailand) 116-114 for Choi, and Kwangsoo Kim (Korea) 115-115.

Baek remained more aggressive against the taller fellow countryman who tried to outbox the hard-hitting champ. It was a give-and-take and close affair. Referee was Fernando Estrella (Philippines).

The champ is 21-0-1, 18 KOs. Choi is 16-1-1, 9 KOs.
