TOKYO, JAPAN-Having failed to win the Japanese national lightweight
title via lopsided decision at the hand of Rick Yoshimura last Feb.,
once-beaten HIRONARI OHSHIMA(right photo), 137, returned to action and easily
disposed of Thailand's No.8 ranked lightie MUANGMAI SISCHSOBHA, 136 3/4,
at 2:59 of the second round.
The JBC No.3 ranked Ohshima, handled by ex-three time world junior middle champ Koichi Wajima, sank him with a single body shot to the side of the belly, and bettered his mark to 12-1, 8 KOs. Muangmai impaired to 8-5, 4 KOs.
JBC No. 3 ranked welter TEPPEI YASUDA, 146 3/4, earned a majority nod (dual 98-96 and 97-97) over a taller southpaw SHINICHI KOMATSU, 147, JBC No.6 welter, over 10. Yasuda remained unbeaten with a 9-0-1, 1 KO mark. Komatsu fell to 11-11-4, 5 KOs. Komatsu, a lefty counterpuncher, forgot his own style only to mix up and was overpowered by the more energetic youngster.

TOKYO, JAPAN-Japanese middle champ Naotaka Hozumi was scheduled to
appear in a main event, but suffered a hand fracture to be unable to
fight as slated. His stablemate, JBC No.2 ranked welter TERUO NAGASE,
157, became a last-minute substitute, and found it easy to halt HYUNSIK
LEE, Korean No.5 super-welter contender, 165 1/2, at 0:44 of the second
session.
Nagase, who had upset ex-OPBF welter champ Hiroyuki Yoshino in his previous bout, landed a wicked shot at the breadbasket, and Lee fell down. His cornerman tossed in the towel, though he didn't seem to have suffered much damage.
Nagase raised his ledger to 18-5-1, 12 KOs. Lee dipped to 13-10-3, 8 KOs.
JBC No.2 ranked super-welter TOSHIHARU KANEYAMA, 154, finished ex-Olympian RASEED KADOEBI, an import from Pakistan, 154, at 0:56 of the second session in a scheduled 8. Kaneyama is 7-2, 6 KOs. Raseed, whose amateur record is said to be 95-20, 52 stoppages, fell to 1-2 here.
JBC #9 ranked super-fly MASAHIRO IIMURA, 115, chalked up a TKO win over KAZUYOSHI UEKI, 115, at 2:11 of the 5th canto. The winner is 10-1-1, 5 KOs.

TOKYO, JAPAN-JBC No.10 ranked MOTOKI SASAKI, 143 1/4, pounded out a
unanimous decision over Filipino BOY LIGAS, 141 1/2, over 10.
Sasaki, who lately graduated from Waseda Univ., is 10-3, 5 KOs.
JBC No.7 ranked super-light MASAAKI MOROOKA, 140, finally caught and stopped MASAKI SAWANAGA, 139 1/2, at 1:37 of the 10th and final session. Morooka, who failed to win the national super-light title on a unanimous nod by Junichi Ono last Dec., improved his log to 20-5-4, 8 KOs. Sawanaga fell to 10-4-2, 5 KOs.
