OSAKA, JAPAN-Slick-punching speedster MASAMORI TOKUYAMA(right photo), 114 3/4, kept
his super-flyweight title of the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation
(OPBF) when he impressi vely dropped Indonesian veteran JACK SIAHARA(left photo),
115, twice and halted him at 2:55 of the second round in a scheduled 12.
Tokuyama, who had acquired the vacant OPBF throne on a close verdict
over Thailand's Pone Saengmorakot last year, registered his second
defense to his credit.
Tokuyama, who had made ex-WBA and WBC champ Hiroki Ioka decide to hang up gloves after his upset TKO win over the veteran, proved faster and sharper than the shorter Indonesian. In the second the Japanese upright stylist exploded a solid overhand right to the temple and sent him sprawling to the deck. Siahaya, who had previously failed to win the WBA super-fly title via TKO route by Yokthai Sith-Oar, barely regained his feet, but collapsed again due to Tokuyama's good follow-up.
Siahaya resumed fighting only to be a human dummy by Tokuyama, which caused referee David Chung, from Korea, to declare a well-received halt.
Tokuyama raised his credentials to 21-2, 5 KOs. Siahaya dropped to 25-5-1, 12 KOs.
