TOKYO, JAPAN-Upcoming WBC #12 ranked super-bantam Manabu Fukushima, 122, displayed his power and sharpness in dismantling Indoesian Annis Dwi, 121.5, at 1:52 of the second round.
Fukushima, ex-national 122-pound champ, caught the 19-year-old prospect, whose amateur mark was 81-8, with a vicious right cross, dropping him so badly as to visibly hurt him. Dwi, 6-2-1, 4 KOs, barely beat the count, but absorbed much punishment with Fukushima’s follow-up to be rescued by the referee.
Fukushima improved his mark to 21-3-1, 15 KOs.
