November 11, 2001

OKAYAMA, JAPAN-Mexican hard-puncher Jose Antonio Aguirre, 26-1-1, put his WBC 105-pound title on the line against a top ranked Japanese Wolf Yasuo Tokimitsu, 19-3, 11 KOs, today at Okayama Budokan (Martial Arts Hall), Okayama City, Japan.

Aguirre tipped the beam at the 105-pound class limit, while Tokimitsu scaled in at 104.25.

Officials are as follows: referee Laurence Cole (US), judges Herbert Minn (US), Dalby Shirley (US) and Nopparat Sricharoen (Thailand).

Aguirre, who has been inactive for months since his right shoulder surgery, is a prohibitive favorite due to his superior physique and power, but Tokimitsu may show his fighting spirit against the highly regarded champ.
