TOKYO, JAPAN-Unbeaten Japanese No.3 ranked feather hard-puncher Hiroyuki Enoki (13-0-1, 9 KOs), 126, was held to a split draw by also undefeated Korean super-bantam champ Jaekwang Chung (7-0-1, 2 KOs), 126, over 10.
Enoki, a highly regarded prospect, almost got toppled by Chungfs opening attack, and became cautious to the shorter but crafty champ. The Japanese began to retaliate with body shots and overhand rights in the second half to make it a close affair.
Scored: Abe 96-95 for Enoki, Morita 97-96 for Chung, and Yoshida 96-96.
Inactive for 13 months, feather speedster Nobuhito Honmo (previously fighting as Powerful Honmo), 126, made a fine return and scored a late stoppage of Thailander Chakkrish Sakmuangklaeng, 125.5, at 1:32 of the 8th round in a scheduled 10.
Honmo, 15-3-1, 4 KOs, registered an upset win over a future Japanese national feather champ Eiichi Sugama in October of the previous year, and became inactive for a year and a month due to his managerial problem. Honmo was then rated No.2 by the JBC, but his name is nowhere in the Japanese ratings.
He made a fine display of speed and skill, sweeping all rounds with his stinging lefts and shifty footwork prior to a trick happening. He downed the Thailander for the compulsory 8 count and followed up effectively to prompt the refereefs intervention.

Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi (as for the Enoki vs. Chung main event).
