WBA #6 SUPER-BANTAM Ishii BEATS WBA #6 BANTAM SRITHAI CONDO

KOMAKI, JAPAN-WBA #6 super-bantam Kozo Ishii (26-3, 19 KOs), 122.75, Japan, floored WBA #6 bantam Saohin Srithai Condo (32-10, 21 KOs), 122.5, Thailand, with a solid left hook in the third, put on a give-and-take performance and scored a unanimous decision over 10 grueling rounds in Komaki, Japan.

Ishii, who had failed to win the WBA 122-pound belt against Nestor Garza and Yober Ortega, landed more accurate punches, though the Thailander kept coming forward with roundhouse blows all the way.

Srithai Condo, who previously lost to Paulie Ayala with the WBA 118-pound title at stake in the US, was penalized twice for his repeated headbutts in the 4th and 8th.

Scored: 96-94, 97-93, and 98-93, all for Ishii.

KOJI KOYAMA TW7 DONKIL SHIN

Fast-rising Koji Koyama (9-2-1, 5 KOs), 112.75, was awarded a majority technical decision over WBC #24 and OPBF #2 ranked Korean fly champ Dongkil Shin (4-1, 1 KO), 112.75, due to the formerfs bad bleeding at 1:15 of the 7th round.

Koyama, unranked by the JBC, almost toppled Shin with a wicked straight right in the opening session and took the leadoff in the first three rounds. The switch-hitting Korean was in command in the 4th and 6th. Shinfs head-collision produced Koyamafs nasty nose-bleeding that forced the ref to stop it and take a technical decision.

Scored: 68-66, 68-67 and 68-68.

Japanese #6 super-fly Yoshinobu Nakamura (12-1-2, 8 KOs), 114.25, took a very effective countering right in the first round, but came back to finish Thai #1 fly contender Yodpetch Chuwatana (10-7, 3 KOs), 114.25, at 2:27 of the 6th canto.

Unbeaten ex-high school champ Masanori Sugita, 123.25, ran his unblemished mark to 10-0, 8 KOs by blasting out Thai #8 super-bantam Suksawadi Kiatchaiyong, 122.25, at 1:07 of the opening session in a scheduled 10.
