TOKAI, JAPAN-Upcoming WBC #29 ranked OPBF heavyweight champ Peter Okhello (9-2, 8 KOs), 240.5, a Japan-based Ugandan, made fireworks from the outset, dropped Australian champ Bob Mirovic (13-10-2, 6 KOs), 251.75, in the second and finally sank him with a wicked body shot at 2:03 of the 5th round.
The 6f4h Peter swarmed over the heavier opponent with stinging lefts and solid rights in the opening canto. The champ sent him to the deck with a strong blow to the midsection, but Mirovic gamely beat the count.
Mirovic occasionally responded to the champfs continual assault with a few countering shots, but Peter kept pummeling him with faster and more powerful shots, sweeping all rounds.
The 5th saw Peter collapse him with a vicious right to the side of the belly with Mirovic staying prone and barely standing up only to be counted out by Korean referee David Chung.
Peter, who had won the vacant OPBF crown by outpunching Tone Fiso this year, showed his great improvement in speed and power. The Ugandan hopes to try his fists in the US in 2002.
WBC #14 ranked fly Hayato Asai (17-3-2, 13 KOs), 114, made a fine comeback after his previous annihilation by Pongsaklek Singwangcha in an ambitious quest for the WBC 112-pound title, as he caught Thai fly champ Phiseh Worsurapon (14-6, 2 KOs), 113.25, with a smashing left hook and dropped him for the count at 1:54 of the 10th and final round.

TOKYO, JAPAN-Satoru Suzuki (15-3, 10 KOs), 159.5, kept his Japanese middleweight belt by finishing veteran Hiroyuki Yoshino (35-10-1, 26 KOs), 157.75, with a single stunning right to the temple at 1:53 of the 5th round.
Ex-national welter and super-welter champ Yoshinofs dream to win his third title diminished, as Suzuki completely outpunched him with good jabs and straight rights all the way.
Yoshino threw his trade-mark left hooks to the air only to be a good target for Suzukifs more accurate rallies. Suzuki, who had dethroned the currently WBC #10 ranked OPBF champ Naotaka Hozumi via upset stoppage last year, registered his fifth defense to his credit.
