TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC 108-pound champ Yosam Choi (23-1, 12 KOs), Korea, arrived at Tokyo today to prepare for his title defense against upcoming Japanese Shingo Yamaguchi (11-2-1, 5 KOs) at Tokyo Bay NK Hall in Chiba on February 23.
The prohibitive favorite Choi, making his third defense, looks in good shape, and expresses his confidence to retain his belt against the less experienced opponent.
Choi’s group took a bit more time than usual from the Narita Airport to the center of Tokyo since the US president George Bush arrived yesterday, so the traffic regulations and strict patrols are under way here.
