WBA #8 BANTAM NAKA SUFFERS AUTO ACCIDENT TO HAVE OPBF TITLE SHOT CANCELLED

December 18, 2002

OSAKA, JAPAN-Unbeaten WBA #8 ranked Japanese bantam champ Nobuaki Naka suffered an auto accident to have the left collarbone fractured when his moterbike had a collision with a 2-ton truck in Itami city on Monday.

Naka, 16-0-2, 11 KOs, was scheduled to have a mandatory shot at the OPBF bantam belt against veteran Filipino Jess Maca in Osaka on March 3, but it was inevitably cancelled since Naka will be unavailable for some months. The 24-year-old Naka kept his national title 7 times and was willing to capture the OPBF crown from Maca, but his dream came to naught.
