THREE OPBF TITLE BOUTS ANNOUNCED

TOKYO, JAPAN-Three OPBF title bouts have been announced today in Japan.

WBC #6 ranked OPBF light-fly champ Tatsuo Hayashida officially renounced his regional belt to prepare for his near-future world title shot, and an elimination bout for the vacant OPBF 108-pound title will take place between his stablemate and WBC #19 ranked Shingo Yamaguchi and WBC #7 Wendyl Janiola, Philippines, in Tokyo on May 12.

WBC #5 and WBA #9 ranked Takashi Koshimoto, Japan, will defend his OPBF feather belt against Filipino Jaime Barcelona in Fukuoka, Japan on March 23.

WBC #4 ranked Jess Maca, a veteran Filipino, will put his OPBF bantam belt on the line against upcoming southpaw Japanese Hozumi Hasegawa in Kobe, Japan, on May 18.


UNBEATEN ONDA STOPS VETERAN KASAGI

TOKYO, JAPAN-Unbeaten Japanese #7 welter Takao Onda, 146.25, ran his unbeaten mark to 10-0, 8 KOs as he came off the canvas and dropped ex-top contender Yasuhito Kasagi (15-7-1, 14 KOs), 145.5, with a countering right to halt him at 1:25 of the third round in Tokyo. Onda won the award for the best Shinjin-o (novice king) winners in the annual tournements among all 4-round boxers last year.
