TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC #6 lightie Kengo Nagashima (23-2-1, 14 KOs), 136.75, decked each twice in the first and second, and finished an overmatched Thailander named Chalamdam Sishtradtrakarn (10-7-1, 6 KOs), 143.5, at 2:31 of the third session in Tokyo.
The Japanese southpaw had failed to win the vacant WBC 130-pound belt via second round demolition by Sirimongkol Singwancha last August, and moved up to the 135-pound division, scoring a couple of KO wins over mediocre oppositions. Chalamdam hit the deck every time he took a punch of the ex-OPBF 130-pound champ.
Filipino bantam champ Johnny Lear (11-7, 6 KOs), 119, dropped Japanese top contender Hisataka Ikemori (18-6-3, 10 KOs), 119, with a smashing left-right combination in the first and floored him again with a countering right to score an impressive KO victory at 2:38 of the third.
Promoter: 18 Koga Promotions.
Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi (as for the Lear-Ikemori bout).
