INCHON, KOREA-WBC top ranked feather contender Injin Chi (27-2, 16 KOs), 128, impressively decked his final tune-up go prior to a slated elimination bout with Michael Brodie, as he floored Thailander Thongcharoen Mahasapcondo (9-9, 1 KO), 128, in the first, third and fourth to embalm him at 2:00 of the 4th round on Wednesday in Inchon, Korea.
Chi previously showed a grueling performance against Eric Morales in Los Angeles in 2001, though losing a close but unanimous decision. Now that Morales is unlikely to defend his WBC 126-pound belt any longer despite not renouncing it yet, the Chi vs. Brodie winner is to become the legitimate champ in the near future.
