Joe Koizumi and Eunsang Cho

SEOUL, KOREA-Ex-WBC 108-pound champ Yosam Choi (26-2, 15 KOs), 114.5, proved stronger and more powerful in disposing of ex-OPBF 105-pound ruler Jinho Kim (14-8, 5 KOs), 114.5, at 1:39 of the fourth round on Saturday night at the Culture Center in Seoul, Korea. Choi had been slated to have a crack at the WBA 108-pound throne against Nicaraguan Rosendo Alvarez on September 12, but it was indefinitely postponed due to a reportedly economic reason. The WBA lately decided, in its Convention in Indonesia, to have Choi entitled to participate in an interim title bout against someone to be designated by the WBA. Choi, 31, lost his WBC belt to Mexican Jorge Arce by a sixth round stoppage in Seoul, and once announced afterward to hang up gloves for good, but recently made a comeback to regain a world title by finishing compatriot Jaeho Kim in four rounds last May.
