TOYAMA, JAPAN-Upcoming Yasuo Kunimi (14-5-4, 5 KOs), 123, decked an important victory over OPBF #6 ranked Thai national bantam champ Norasingh Kiatprasanchai, 123.75, by a unanimous decision (98-93, 97-94 and 97-95) over ten heats on Sunday night in Toyama. Kunimi, who had previously decisioned Australian champ Tommy Browne last year, beat another national ruler, and is gunning for a shot at the OPBF 122-pound champ against Pedrito Laurente next spring.
His stablemate Isamu Sakashita (16-5, 12 KOs), 126.5, also decked an upset triumph as he landed a vicious right to OPBF #7 ranked Thai national feather champ Saengsi Poh Chaiwathana (17-7, 8 KOs), 128.5, and sank him for the count at 1:49 of the opening session.
Ryuichi Kuwana, 145.75, outscored Akihiro Tominaga, 146, over ten.
