CEBU, PHILIPPINES-Unbeaten WBC and WBA #2 ranked Randy Suico (21-0, 18 KOs), 129.5, kept his OPBF 130-pound belt by flattening Korean challenger Seungwon Baek (9-3, 2 KOs), 129, at 0:45 of the second round on Friday night in Cebu, Philippines. Suico, 24, is slated to fight WBC top contender Mzonke Fana in an eliminator to decide the official challenger this coming April.
Unbeaten WBC #8 ranked 122-pounder Jimrex Jaca (21-0, 10 KOs), 122, captured the OPBF 122-pound belt as he dropped the defending champ Pedrito Laurente (14-7-1, 5 KOs), 121, with a southpaw left uppercut in the fourth and pounded out a nearly lopsided decision (117-110, 119-109 and 116-111) over twelve heats. Jaca will put his belt on the line against Yasuo Kunimi in Kanazawa, Japan, on May 30.
