TOKYO, JAPAN-Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions, a most influential promoter here in Japan, has announced that WBC #6 ranked OPBF 140-pound champ Masakazu Satake (19-2-4, 12 KOs) (right photo) will face #23 Colombian hard-puncher Carlos Maussa (16-1, 15 KOs) beneath his triple world title promotion in Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on March 6. Satake, a fast-rising southpaw speedster, kept his regional belt on nine occasions, beating such name opponents as Rick Yoshimura, Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Dindo Castanares. Maussa is a tall and tricky hard-hitter from Colombia, stopping Jeffrey Resto in six rounds in Corpus Christi last September and being halted by Miguel Cotto in eight sessions in Puerto Rico this December.
Honda presents deluxe three world title bouts, as follows: WBC bantam champ Veeraphol Nakhonluang-Promotion (41-1-2, 29 KOs) will face top contender Toshiaki Nishioka (23-3-3, 14 KOs) for the fourth time with his title at stake. WBC super-bantam kingpin Oscar Larios (50-3-1, 35 KOs), Mexico, will put his belt on the line against jaw-breaking hard-puncher Shigeru Nakazato (24-6, 18 KOs) in a sensational rematch, as Nakazato previously broke the champfs jaw with his left hook despite his defeat on points last April. WBA interim bantam champ Hideki Todaka (21-3-1, 10 KOs) will risk his belt against Mexican Julio Zarate over twelve.
