MIURA STOPS NAKAMURA

February 26, 2004

TOKYO, JAPAN-Ex-amateur champ Takashi Miura (3-0, 2 KOs), 134.5, impressively scored a fine stoppage of Osamu Nakamura (7-4-3, 6 KOs), 135, as he landed solid southpaw lefts to the face with precision, slowed down his opponent and sank him with a vicious right hook at 2:04 of the third round in a scheduled eight on Thursday night in Tokyo, Japan. Miura, piloted by ex-world top feather contender Mitsunori Seki (who was also an excellent lefty), will zoom up soon provided that he becomes more experienced in the paid ranks.

Hard-punching bantam Shinichiro Yamaguchi (11-3-1, 8 KOs), 118, displayed a quick demolition of Shintaro Noda (7-6-3, 6 KOs), 118, with a wicked right following accurate combinations, prompting the refereefs halt at 2:45 into the opening canto in a scheduled eight.

Kota Suzuno (12-4-2, 3 KOs), 125, landed such an effective short right that he dropped Shigeyuki Sakaemura (13-5-2, 2 KOs), 126, for the mandatory eight count and the loser looked still shaky and groggy enough to the ref to stop the proceedings at 2:13 of the second canto in a scheduled eight.

Promoter: Yokohama Hikari Promotions.
