BREDAHL AND NAKA ENCOUNTER TODAY

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK-WBA bantam champ Johnny Bredahl (54-2, 26 KOs), a 35-year-old Dane, will risk his belt against unbeaten Japanese prospect Nobuaki Naka (17-0-2, 11 KOs), 25, tonight (Saturday) at the Brondby Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The weigh-in ceremony took place yesterday at the Radisson SAA Falkoner Hotel, where Bredahl and Naka both tipped the beam at the 118-pound class limit. Bredahl expressed his confidence, saying, gIfll defend my title before my Danish supporters.h The modest-speaking Japanese said, gIfll do my best and try to win the world title.h

The WBA officials are as follows: referee Mark Nelson (US); judges Daniel Talon (France), Ricardo Duncan (Panama) and Silvestre Abainza (Philippines); supervisor Gonzalo Lopez Silvero (US). The main event will start at about 11 pm.
