OSAKA, JAPAN-Unbeaten WBC #3 ranked OPBF flyweight champ Noriyuki Komatsu (19-0-5, 8 KOs), 112, kept his regional belt as he was awarded a unanimous technical decision (98-93 twice and 97-93) over compatriot Takeyuki Kojima (11-3-3, 5 KOs), 111.5, at 1:27 of the tenth round in a scheduled twelve rounder on Saturday evening in Osaka, Japan. Komatsu, making his fifth defense, scored solid rights to the game challenger, who made good retaliations despite losing points. Komatsu, from the third round on, kept streaming blood from a gash over the right eyebrow opened by an accidental butt. It was examined by the ringside physician for the third time in the tenth, when the referee Harada didnft allow the champ to go on and took a technical decision.
Kazuaki Matsumoto, 139.5, stopped Thailander Chuwan Sor Voraphin, 136.75, at 1:55 of the sixth in a scheduled ten. Naoto Fujiwara, 126, unanimously decisioned Shusaku Torikai, 125.25, over ten. Hiroshi Yoshiyama, 115, halted Thailander Yodsuk Windee, 113, at 1:41 of the third in a scheduled eight.

TOKYO, JAPAN-Ex-Japanese 130-pound champ Kinji Amano (22-8-3, 12 KOs), 127.75, made a comeback as he stopped unranked Thailander Pasopchai Sasabayotin, 127.75, with a body shot at 2:22 of the third round in a scheduled eight on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan. Amano had suffered a fracture on the eye socket and unexpectedly lost to unranked Takashi Miura on a sixth round TKO last June, being dropped to #10 in the Japanese ratings.

TOKYO, JAPAN-The tournaments of Japanese contenders, all in four rounders, went to the semi-finals to see some upset results on Wednesday night in Tokyo, Japan. Nobuhisa Doi (16-7-4, 6 KOs), 125.5, won a hairline unanimous nod over Japanese #5 feather Shintaro Yazawa (19-4, 11 KOs), 126, over four. Unbeaten hard-hitting Ryu Miyagi (10-0-1, 8 KOs), 124.75, earned a close decision over Japanese #8 superbantam and ex-Asian Games bronze medalist Norihisa Tomimoto (10-4-1, 5 KOs), 126, over four. Heavy-punching Japanese #7 superfeather Hidekazu Matsunobu (27-7-1, 18 KOs), 135, earned a split nod over Kenichi hashiura (19-6-1, 4 KOs), 134.5, over four. Japanese #2 ranked 130-pounder Keita Manabe (19-1, 17 KOs), 135, scored a quick KO win over Kentaro Ogura (6-5-1, 5 KOs), 134.5, at 1:49 of the first round. Yasuhito Kasagi (17-7-1, 15 KOs), 146.25, was awarded a controversial majority decision over busier punching Kozo Watanabe (10-3, 7 KOs), 146.75, over four.
