TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC #26 ranked ex-Japanese minimum champ Makoto Suzuki (15-8-2, 10 KOs), 105.25, came off the canvas in the opening session, floored OPBF #2 ranked Thai national champ Namchai Taksini-san (11-11, 2 KOs), 105.25, in the third and finally floored him again to cause the refereefs intervention at 2:45 of the fifth round on Wednesday night in Tokyo, Japan. Suzuki, who had forfeited his national belt to the current WBA 105-pound champ Yutaka Niida via ninth round TKO in 2001, came back so strongly that he had the Thailander on the deck with an overhand right in the third, and sent him sprawling to the canvas with a barrage of punches in the fatal fifth. When the ref Uratani called a halt, Namchai then fell for a third time with his absorption of punishment.
Unbeaten ex-Univ. amateur boy Kazuma Miura, 126, ran his unblemished mark to 4-0, 4 KOs by a single uppercut to onrushing early starter Toshiro Takatoh (8-4, 6 KOs), 124.75, only 18 seconds into the first round in a scheduled eight.
