CHI-HARRISON UNIFICATION UNLIKELY

October 28, 2004

TOKYO, JAPAN-Kusung Lee, Poongsan Promotions of Korea, definitely denied that WBC featherweight champ Injin Chi would fight WBO ruler Scott Harrison in a unification bout, as stated by Harrison himself in a press conference prior to his defense against Samuel Kebede this Friday. Chi will make his second defense in Korea most probably on December 18, and if successful, the Korean champ will be obliged to make a mandatory defense against the winner of WBC #1 ranked Rocky Juareza and #2 Humberto Soto in his next defense, as decided in the WBC Convention in Thailand this month. The promoter Lee said that the Chi-Harrison match-up was g0% doneh and Chi would never go and fight Harrison in the Great Britain. Chifs priority should consist in his December defense in his native country and then the mandatory defense against the official challenger.
