TOKYO, JAPAN-WBA #7 ranked bantam Manabu Fukushima (27-6-2, 18 KOs), 120, pounded out a nearly shutout decision (100-89, 100-90 and 99-92) over ex-Philippine champ Rey Llagas (57-25-2, 35 KOs), 118.5, over ten heats on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan. Ex-OPBF champ Fukushima, who had an unsuccessful shot at the WBC 122-pound throne only to be annihilated by Oscar Larios in eight rounds in 2002, had the Filipino veteran at bay in the fifth, seventh and tenth rounds, but Llagas's pride and gameness made him refuse to go down and last the lopsided affair.
Unbeaten flyweight prospect Satoshi Takahashi (13-0-1, 13 KOs), 111.25, easily stopped Jom Looksima (reportedly 9-3, 4 KOs), 111.75, at 1:56 of the second round in a scheduled ten. Takahashi caught the Thailander and floored him twice prior to the refereefs intervention. The JBC #3 ranked KO artist will face tougher oppositions next year, according to his manager Yukinori Hiraki.

TOKYO, JAPAN-Formerly world-rated ex-Japanese 130-pound champ Kinji Amano (22-8-4, 12 KOs), 127.25, was held to a majority draw (76-76 twice and 77-76 against him) with game and aggressive Hero Bando (13-7-6, 7 KOs), 128.5, over hard-fought eight rounds on Monday in Tokyo, Japan. The tide busily turned with Amano peppering with light but accurate combinations and Bando occasionally swarming over him with more powerful rallies. It was such a see-saw affair that we may call it Fight of the Month.
Kazuhiro Isogai (8-6, 4 KOs), 149, handled by ex-world 154-pound champ Koichi Wajima, floored Kazuya Nagasako (11-9-2, 2 KOs), 148.5, twice and scored a spectacular stoppage at 1:52 of the fourth session in a scheduled eight.
