KOCHI, JAPAN-WBC #9 ranked 105-pounder and WBC international champ Armand de la Cruz (16-5-1, 6 KOs), 104.5, stunned the audience with his quick demolition of local prospect Shunsuke Nagao (13-2-2, 4 KOs), 107, at 2:43 of the first round in a scheduled ten on Sunday in Kochi, Japan. The southpaw Filipino exploded an opening shot to have the Japanese groggy and floored him with a right-left combination. De la Cruz dropped him again with a southpaw right hook, and sent him to the deck with a vicious left hook to the temple for the third time. Nagao was flattened by the victor’s blitzkrieg.
