TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC #18 ranked Crazy Kim (AKA Toshiharu Kaneyama) (21-3, 18 KOs), 154, easily kept his OPBF 154-pound belt as he decked overmatched Indonesian Ade Alfons (reportedly 13-2-1, 2 KOs), 150.75, in the first and third rounds and retired him at 0:22 of the fourth session because of the allegedly injured right shoulder on Monday night in Tokyo, Japan.
The shaven skulled champ caught the fragile challenger with an overhand right to the temple, dropping him near the ropes in the opening canto. Alfons looked so gun-shy and intimidated that he became terribly defensive. Kimfs left uppercut to the face, in round three, sent him to the deck again. The loser claimed that he had a pain on the right shoulder and refused to go out for the fourth, and referee Ukrid Sarasas urged him to go on and counted out the standing boxer in the corner. The Indonesianfs lack of fighting spirit was severely jeered by the audience.
Unbeaten Japanese #4 ranked 115-pounder Kuniyuki Aizawa (7-0-1, 5 KOs), 114.5, was awarded a majority decision (97-96, 98-95 and 97-97) over Filipino flyweight champ Jerry Pahayahay (42-46-3, 15 KOs in 91 bouts), 114, over ten. The 33-year-old Filpino kept peppering the Japanese footworker, while Aizawa occasionally scored stronger left-right combos to the veteran. Japanese #3 122-pounder Toshimitsu Sakai (15-3-1, 7 KOs), 121.5, outhustled Munetake Egawa (9-8-1, 5 KOs), 122, to win a unanimous nod over ten.
Promoter: Misako Promotions.
Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi (as for the Aizawa vs. Pahayahay bout).
