OSAKA, JAPAN-WBA#6/WBC#9 ranked ex-Japanese 115-pound champ Seiji Tanaka has been unconscious since being hospitalized after he was dethroned by Nobuo Nashiro on a tenth round TKO last Sunday in Osaka, Japan. Though the doctors immediately drew a blood clot through a hole on the skull that night, Tanakafs condition became unstable thereafter. He then underwent an operation with a cranial bone removed to examine and clean up the brain on Thursday. The operation was successful, but Tanaka, a 28-year-old stablemate of ex-WBC 115-pound champ Masamori Tokuyama, still stays in a coma.
