TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC #18 ranked former OPBF 122-pound champ Jimrex Jaca (23-1-1, 9 KOs), 124.5, Philippines, was held to a majority draw (95-95, 96-96 and 96-95 against him) by ex-Japanese ruler Kinji Amano (22-8-5, 12 KOs), 124.75, over ten see-saw rounds on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. The 21-year-old Filipino southpaw had forfeited his OPBF belt to Yasuo Kunimi via seventh round KO due to his condition caused by his failure to make the weight properly in May of the previous year, and moved up to the feather division thereafter. Jaca was aggressive in the first three rounds, but took a left hook to the button to suffer a flash knockdown in the closing seconds of the fourth. Amano, 30, was in command in the fifth, but Jaca came back to win three rounds from the sixth. Amano, bloodied after an accidental butt, showed his last surge and kept stalking Jaca with body bombardments in the final session. It was a crowd-pleasing bout.
Japanese #9 welter Takao Onda (15-3, 12 KOs), 146.5, called gJapanese Gattih, floored Kenji Kondo (6-5, 3 KOs), 146.25, three times and finally flattened him with a vicious overhand right at 2:07 of the second round in a scheduled eight. Kentaro Inamura (13-3-2, 4 KOs), 117.5, a doctor of the prestigious Cancer Research Institute, scored a fine TKO win over Kyohei Wada (4-4, 2 KOs), 117.5, at 2:14 of the fourth session in a scheduled eight.
