TOKYO, JAPAN-Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions has announced that WBC #8 ranked bantamweight Gerardo Martinez (27-5-3, 20 KOs), Mexico, will replace the top ranked Diego Morales, as the younger brother of El Terrible suffered a bad laceration during a final workout in Los Angeles prior to his departure for Tokyo, Japan, where he was scheduled to have a mandatory shot at the WBC 118-pound belt against the newly crowned Hozumi Hasegawa on this coming September 25.
