TOKYO, JAPAN-Public workouts of world challengers, Mexican Gerardo Martinez and Filipino Eriberto Gejon, took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Teiken Gym in Tokyo, Japan. WBC#8 bantam Martinez (27-5-3. 20 KOs) lately replaced top contender Diego Morales who suffered a bad gash in his final sparring session to cancel his participation, and arrived in Tokyo on Sunday. After his light training Martinez said, gI am in good condition despite being a late substitute, as I was training for a fight in the end of September. I hear the WBC bantam champ Hozumi Hasegawa is a good southpaw, but I donft care whether he is orthodox or lefty.h WBA#2 ranked 105-pounder Eriberto Gejon (21-0-1, 13 KOs), who will have a shot at the WBA minimum champ Yutaka Niida, engaged in two sparring sessions with WBC#10 Japanese Teruo Misawa and looked sharp and well-prepared. The lanky Filipino said, gIfm in a good shape, and will prove how good I am on Sunday.h
