TOKYO, JAPAN-Filipino boxer Ayon Naranjo, who suffered a brain injury after losing to Venezuelan Jorge Linares beneath the world title twinbill on Sunday, fortunately escaped a crisis without undergoing a brain surgery and was moved to a ward from an ICU (intensive care unit) on Wednesday. Accompanied by his manager Leonil Lazarito, Naranjo has improved day after day and will leave hospital and return to his country in two weeks, hopefully. It was very fortunate the hospital was located just five minutes by car from the Yokohama Arena, and the Japanese commissionfs medical preparation with the ring physician Dr. Otsukifs instructions, was superb enough to save the boxerfs life as he was sent hospital within 30 minutes after his bout.
