NAGOYA, JAPAN-Unheralded Filipino Roselito Campana (16-10-2, 5 KOs), 114, was awarded an upset unanimous technical decision (59-56 twice and 59-57) over WBC#32 ranked ex-OPBF flyweight champ Hiroshi Nakano (21-3, 12 KOs), 113.75, at 2:02 of the sixth round in a scheduled ten on Monday in Nagoya, Japan. OPBF #8 fly Campana sustained a cut over the forehead by a collision of heads midway in the third, and it became worsened so badly that the ringside physician advised the referee to call a halt. Before the stoppage the Filipino had been in command by effectively using light but accurate jabs. What happened to Nakano? He thus suffered three defeats in his last four bouts, forfeiting his Japanese national belt to Daisuke Naito via technical decision, losing to Filipino champ Eric Barcelona by a TKO and dropping a technical nod to such a seemingly overmatched Filipino opponent as Campana.
