EAGLE TO DEFEND WBC 105LB BELT AGAINST NAKAJIMA

TOKYO, JAPAN-WBC 105-pound champ Eagle Kyowa (14-1, 5 KOs) will put hisbelt on the line against up-and-coming Japanese Ken Nakajima (14-2, 8KOs) in Yokohama, Japan, on January 9. Eagle regained his throne bywinning a unanimous decision over Katsunari Takayama last August.Nakajima recently defeated a couple of world contenders Armando de laCruz of the Philippines and Francisco Rosas of Mexico both in Osaka.Nakajima, currently ranked #7 in the WBC 108-pound category, will movedown to have an ambitious shot at Eaglefs crown.

In a supporting bout, ex-WBC 115-pound champ Katsushige Kawashima willappear for the first time since forfeiting his belt to Masamori Tokuyamain their rubber match and face Thai super-fly ruler Phetchaklongphai SohDharnthip over ten rounds.
