KAMEDA FACES BOUCHAN TODAY

March 8, 2006

TOKYO, JAPAN-19-year-old ex-karate kid, WBA#4/WBC#6 ranked flyweight sensation Koki Kameda (9-0, 8 KOs) will square off against WBC#13 FECARBOX titlist Carlos Bouchan (16-5, 12 KOs) today (Wednesday) in Tokyo, Japan. The fast-rising southpaw Kameda raised his stock as he kept stalking ex-WBA ruler Noel Arambulet all the way and finally retired him at the end of the seventh round last November. Gunning for a shot at either of WBC champ Pongsaklek Kratindaeng-gym and WBA kingpin Lorenzo Parra before his 20th birthday in November, the flamboyant big mouth will engage in two or three tune-up bouts against world contenders. It might be incredible that Kameda is by far more popular than five world champs out of Japan (Koshimoto, Hasegawa, Tokuyama, Eagle and Niida) due to his frequent TV appearances. Bouchan claims that he had scored some 115 wins in 130 amateur contests before turning pro in 1999. The Mexican speedster acquired the FECARBOX 112-pound belt by stopping Ulises Cadena in six in 2003 and kept it once by decking a fourth round TKO win over Jonathan Gutierrez next year. Both scaled in at the 112-pound contracted weight yesterday. Kameda cried there, gIfll destroy him within five rounds.h It will be tested whether Kameda is a real thing tonight.
