NEW JBC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY YASUKOCHI SUCCEEDS KOJIMA

April 1, 2006

TOKYO, JAPAN-The Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) has announced that Tsuyoshi Yasukochi succeeded Shigeru Kojima as executive secretary on this day and the 75-year-old Kojima will serve as counselor for the JBC. Kojima had been at the post for some forty years and greatly contributed to the development of the Japanese fistic world by diligently communicating with the WBA and the WBC (Japan has affiliated with only these two organizations, ignoring the IBF, the WBO and others). We cannot but thank for his long efforts to have our boxing fraternity active. Yasukochi, 44, is an ex-referee and lawyer-applicant, having worked at the JBC for years. He will have no problem in his ability and willingness, as our boxing world will support him from now on. Only a problem for Yasukochi will be to explain to his wife (who reportedly does not like boxing so much) how interesting this sport is and to make her a boxing fan.
