UNBEATEN KAMEDA MEETS FAJARDO TOMORROW

May 04, 2006

TOKYO, JAPAN

Unbeaten and sensational WBA#4/WBC#5 ranked19-year-old lefty Koki Kameda (10-0, 9 KOs) will face IBF#4/WBC#32 Nicaraguan Carlos Fajardo (15-6-1-2NC, 10 KOs) tomorrow (Friday) at the Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo, Japan. It might be ironically a good contract that this show will take place at the big arena the capacity of which is some 10,000, while the WBC minimum title bout on the next day will be held at the Korakuen Hall with the capacity of only 2,000. Kamedafs flamboyance and killer instinct made him so rapidly popular and well-known even among the general public that this fight will be shown by TBS TV in a special program at a prime hour for two hours from 7 pm along with his unbeaten younger brother Daiki Kamedafs third pro fight. Kameda predicts a quick KO victory within five rounds, saying, gMy knockout will celebrate the May 5 holiday (the childrenfs day here in Japan not like Cinco de Mayo in Mexico).h Though underestimated, the Nicaraguan southpaw has been training well with a supervision of his trainer Luis Mena, and says it will not be easy for Kameda to defeat him. Fajardo previously showed his durability and gameness though he lost to Ivan Calderon in a bid for the IBF 105-pound belt in Las Vegas in November 2004. It was said to be Calderonfs toughest game. Wefll see whether Kameda is a real thing tomorrow night.
