OSAKA, JAPAN
WBC super-fly champ Masamori Tokuyama appeared at a press conference today (Thursday) in Osaka, Japan, and announced that he would fight on in his 115-pound category despite his previous statement that he might move up to the bantam division or hang up gloves for good. Tokuyama, who successfully made his initial defense against the official challenger Jose Navarro this February after regaining his belt from his grudge rival Katsushige Kawashima, says he hopes to face WBC 118-pound ruler Hozumi Hasegawa or Japanese sensation Koki Kameda in the future. Tokuyama is now under rehabilitation of his right shoulder injury suffered in an auto accident, but wishes to make a return to defend his belt within this year.
