YOSHIZAWA DEFEATS SERAN

May 27, 2006

KYOTO, JAPAN

Japanese prospect Yuki Yoshizawa (14-1, 6 KOs), 131, decked an important victory when he displayed a last surge to sweep the last four rounds and earn a close but unanimous verdict (97-93, 96-95 and 96-94) over OPBF#4 ranked Indonesian super-feather champ Moses Seran (31-10, 9 KOs), 130.5, over hard-fought ten rounds on Saturday in Kyoto, Japan. The tall and lanky Japanese made a good start by throwing sharp jabs. Seran showed his furious retaliation despite a cut over the left eyebrow in the third and clearly dominated the fifth and sixth as he rocked the local prospect with solid rights. But Yoshizawa impressively fought back hard and effectively attacked Seran who visibly ran out of gas from the seventh on. The victor is gunning for a shot at the newly crowned OPBF 130-pound champ Nobuhito Honmo in the future.

Undercard:

Unbeaten Teppei Isomichi (11-0, 7 KOs), 140, ex-national winner of the 4-round novice king tourney, scored a shutout decision (all 80-71) over Indonesian Darsim (13-5-1, 8 KOs), 138.75, over eight. As publicized, Isomichi has announced to hang up gloves for good after this bout.

Promoter: Woz Promotions.

Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi.
