TOKYO, JAPAN
Unbeaten 19-year-old WBA light-flyweight champ Koki Kameda (12-0, 10 KOs) will risk his belt against Juan Jose Landaeta (20-4-1, 16 KOs), Venezuela, in their grudge fight at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan, on October 18. The Japanese southpaw barely acquired the vacant 108-pound belt by a debatable decision over the more experienced Venezuelan lefty here on August 2, and the verdict caused a nationwide controversy. At stake will not be only the WBA belt but Kamedafs pride and credentials. The flamboyant champ said, gI wasnft satisfied with my performance at all last time. I will show my real strength and dispatch Landaeta next time. Hefs an ordinary boxer. Ifll prove Ifm much more superior.h The general public as well as our boxing fans will pay great attentions to this highly anticipated rematch.
