TOKYO, JAPAN
Very sensational KO artist, WBA 130-pound champ Edwin Valero (20-0, 20 KOs, including 18 first round knockouts straight since his pro debut), Venezuela, will make Japan his hometown from now on, since he arrived here last week with his family to live and campaign in Tokyo. Greatly influenced by a successful example of WBA#2/WBC#3 unbeaten Venezuelan feather compatriot Jorge Linares, Valero made up his mind to follow his footstep, leaving the political and social turmoil in his country. Velerofs promoter Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions already arranged everything for him including his familyfs residence. The southpaw devastating hard-puncher captured the WBA super-feather belt by dismantling Vicente Mosquera in Panama last August, and is planning to make his initial defense here early next year. Having already produced a sensation by scoring a couple of KO wins in Japan, Valero may become more and more popular if he continues a KO streak (with 100% KO percentage) in his future defenses. Valerofs ultimate goal will be a highly anticipated confrontation with Manny Pacquiao, the most popular Asian boxer.
