OSAKA, JAPAN
Newly crowned WBA 115-pound champ Nobuo Nashiro (8-0, 5 KOs), Japan, will put his belt against Mexican Eduardo Carcia (17-4, 7 KOs) in Osaka, Japan, on December 2. It was announced by Takashi Edagawa of Muto Promotions. Nashiro upset Martin Castillo to wrest the WBA throne via tenth round TKO because of Castillofs wide and deep gash last July. Nashiro, making his first defense, tied the Japanese record of acquiring the world belt in the shortest career. Garcia lately acquired the WBC Mundo Hispano bantam belt by stopping Oswardo Juarez in Mexico this August.
A supporting bout is a Japanese super-welter elimination bout between #1 ranked Nbuhiro Ishida and #2 Takuji Matsuhashi, but Matsuhashi suffered a leg injury during a sparring session to be unable to participate in the semi-final event. The promoter and matchmaker are looking for a substitute with best efforts.
