Kyoei Promotions has announced that unbeaten WBC#28 Daiki Kameda (7-0, 5 KOs), an 18-year-old brother of WBA light-fly champ Koki Kameda, will face WBA#4 ranked 108-pounder Vicky Tahumil (31-0-1, 10 KOs), an Indonesian southpaw, over ten rounds in Sapporo, Japan, on February 23.
Daiki had entered the WBC rating by defeating Mexican veteran Valerio Sanchez by a well-received majority decision (77-76 twice and 77-77) after a hard fight during the WBA convention here last September. Tahumil, a 32-year-old southpaw, hasnft fought even once out of Indonesia, where he had retained his national 108-pound belt seven times and once acquired the PABA light-fly belt by unanimously outscoring Filipino Marvin Tampus in 2004. Daiki, a good left hooker, is also talented as a singer and painter. He makes it a rule to sing a love ballad in the ring after scoring a KO triumph and draw a poster of his own bout, so is getting more and more popular among gal fans. The promoter Keiichiro Kanehira already executed the contract and sent an advance to Tahumil party. It will serve as a serious test of this fast-rising prospect.
