TOKYO, JAPAN
Ex-OPBF super-middle and light-heavy champ Yoshinori Nishizawa (28-18-5, 16 KOs), 41 years of age, accepted the Japanese commissionfs recommendation to retire in the domestic ring, but showed his intention to fight on abroad. Nishizawa, still popular among fight fans here, said, gI accept the JBCfs recommendation, but will not retire now. I wonft repent of my career, and will fight on as an active boxer in foreign countries.h The JBC invalidated his license on Monday, as the JBCfs executive secretary Tsuyoshi Yasukochi explained that its medical committee decided that should Nishizawa go on, there might be dangerous factors to cause his brain injury or have him punch drunk in the future.h Nishizawa strongly wishes to face Heath Stenton (who captured his OPBF light-heavy belt on January 30) again in Australia, or continue his campaign in Fiji.
