YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
Hard-punching unbeaten feather prospect, OPBF#10 Satoshi Hosono (8-0, 7 KOs), 128, stunned the crowd with a very quick demolition of OPBF#2 ranked Thai national champ Petchthongkhum Sishpraka-iFah (8-4, 2 KOs), 127.25, at 1:19 of the opening session on Sunday in Yokohama, Japan.
Hosono, handled by ex-WBA/WBC 105-pound champ Hideyuki Ohashi, floored the 18-year-old Thai champ with a countering left hook within a minute from the start. Hosono, ex-amateur national champ, landed a wicked left to the belly to sink the Thailander in agony for the count. The 23-year-old university graduate registered seven consecutive KO wins over such victims as then Filipino champ Jeffrey Onate (KO1 with a single right cross) and Mexican Mario Garcia (KO6). Hosono is gunning for a shot either at the OPBF belt against world-rated Hiroyuki Enoki or at the Japanese national throne against newly-crowned Hiroyuki Aoh.
Body snatcher Sohei Yoneyama (10-2-2, 3 KOs), 130.25, battered the breadbasket of Payator Twinspecial (6-4, 2 KOs), 129, all the way and pounded out a unanimous nod (80-71 twice and 79-73) over eight.
