TOKYO, JAPAN
WBC#4/WBA#6 formerly four-time world challenger Toshiaki Nishioka (29-4-3, 17 KOs), 123.75, looked impressive as he dropped WBC Fecarbox 122-pound champ Javier Sotelo (19-5-1, 11 KOs), 122.75, Colombia, three times and finally had him sprawling to the deck for the count at 0:23 of the seventh round on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan.
Nishioka, despite a hiatus for months, finely displayed his favorite southpaw lefts and floored the Colombian switch-hitter in the first, sixth and fatal seventh to impress the audience. His southpaw double left shots were effective enough to demolish the game and elusive opponent.
Unbeaten prospect Yoshimitsu Yashiro (18-0-1, 10 KOs), 131.25, finally halted OPBF#9 ranked Thai national champ Muangfahlek Kiatwichien (16-11, 10 KOs), 131.5, because of the veteran Thailanderfs bad bleeding on the bridge of the nose at 2:23 of the seventh session. Daisuke Nakagawa (9-2-1, 6 KOs), 146, dispatched Indonesian #3 welter Ade Alfons (21-6-1, only 2 KOs), 146.5, at 1:12 of the second in a scheduled eight.
Promoter: Teiken Promotions.
Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi (as for the Yashiro-Muangfahlek and Nakagawa-Alfons bouts).
