Akihiko Hondafs Teiken Promotions has announced today that a world doubleheader will take place in Tokyo, Japan, on June 12. WBC bantam champ Hozumi Hasegawa (23-2, 7 KOs), Japan, will put his belt on the line against WBC#9 Cristian Faccio (14-2, 9 KOs), Uruguay, in his sixth defense in the main event. Also, unbeaten KO artist Edwin Valero (23-0, 23 KOs), a Japan-based Venezuelan southpaw, will risk his throne against the mandatory challenger Israel Perez (21-2, 12 KOs), a tough Argentine, in a companion title go. Valero wasnft in attendance as he has been strenuously training under the tutelage of Kenny Adams in Las Vegas. Supporting the twinbill is the OPBF super-feather title bout, where unbeaten WBC#15 regional champ Takashi Uchiyama (9-0, 7 KOs), Japan, will defend his belt against durable compatriot Hero Bando (19-8-6, 8 KOs), over twelve. This sensational show will entertain Japanese aficionados without doubt.
