WBC#7/WBA#8 OPBF lightweight champ Randy Suico (27-3, 23 KOs) (right photo), a hard-punching Filipino, will participate in a non-title bout with Thailander Sornkom Jockey-gym in a festival show celebrating gBattle of Mactanh in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines, on April 21. Having failed to win the WBA 135-belt from Juan Diaz in Las Vegas in 2006, Suico scored three victories in as many bouts since, defeating Pornpetch Chuwatana (TKO4), Tomonori Nakagawa (W12) and Koji Samejima (TKO8). It will be a memorial event for the historical day when Cebuano warrior Lapu-Lapu battled with a globe-trotting explorer Ferdinando Magellan at the Mactan island in 1521. Suicofs OPBF belt will not be on the line.
