Unranked super-bantam prospect Masaki Miya (17-1-1, 12 KOs), 125.25, appeared after a seven-month hiatus, and defeated OPBF#12 Thai national 122-pound champ Kumarnthong Chuwatana (18-13-1, 14 KOs), 124.5, by a unanimous decision (97-94, 97-93 and 99-93) over ten rounds on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. The Thai champ was aggressive and effective in the first five rounds, but Miya displayed a good surge against the fading veteran in the second half.
