TOCHIGI, JAPAN
Comebacking ex-world flyweight challenger Daiki Kameda (12-1, 9 KOs), 115.75, too easily finished ex-WBC 105-pound champ Isaac Bustos (25-9-3, 13 KOs), 115.75, Mexico, with a single right at 1:32 of the third round in a scheduled ten on Monday in Tochigi, Japan.
It was problematic that the 19-year-old prospect fought the ring-rusty Bustos, 33, with their apparent difference of physique. Bustos should be ashamed of having participated in such a handicapped bout with the stipulated weight of 116 pounds (a pound over the super-fly limit) to tarnish his name as ex-WBC world champ. It was pitiful and miserable that Bustos looked overpowered from the start and finally overwhelmed by the physically much bigger youngster. Bustos had fought just once in two years and ten months since his annihilation by Ivan Calderon in a bid for the WBO 105-pound belt in Las Vegas in February 2006. Who authorized this mismatch?
