Former WBA flyweight champ Takefumi Sakata (34-5-2, 15 KOs), 114.75, returned to action after his forfeiture of the WBA 112-pound belt via second round annihilation by Thailander Denkaosen Kaowichit on the last day of the previous year, and pounded out a unanimous decision (97-94, 99-92 and 99-91) over Korean titlist Jinman Jun, 115, over ten on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan.
Sakata made a slow start as usual, but finished warming up his engine in the fourth and swept all rounds thereafter by battering the durable Korean upstairs and downstairs. Sakata says, gIfll try to win back the world belt either in the 112-pound or 115-pound category.h
