KIM FACES SUICO IN KOREA

August 19, 2009

SEOUL, KOREA

WBC#6 super-light Jungbum Kim (32-3-1, 28 KOs), a hard-punching Korean southpaw, will put his OPBF 140-pound belt on the line against ex-OPBF 130-pound and 135-pound ruler Randy Suico (28-5-1, 24 KOs), Philippines, during the WBC convention most probably on November 6. Kim will be a prefight favorite since Suico lost twice in a row to Ichitaro Ishii (retired) and Kengo Nagashima in Japan before he outgrew the lightweight category. Kim captured the OPBF throne by a second-round demolition of Japanfs Masakazu Satake in October 2004 and registered five defenses all within the distance since. Though he lost a decision to Mexican Arturo Morua in Hollywood, California in April 2005, Kim has scored nine consecutive knockouts thereafter. Attendants in the WBC convention will watch their give-and-take brawl in a commemoration show in Cheju, Korea.
